Express Entry
The Express Entry is an online immigration system used to manage skilled workers’ applications for permanent residence in Canada. This system has grown a lot since the beginning of the pandemic and is now accepting more and more applicants as Canada is affected by a labour shortage and is in need of skilled workers.
Express Entry includes the following programs:
-
Federal Skilled Worker Program;
-
Federal Skilled Trades Program;
-
Canada Experience Class;
-
Select streams under the Provincial Nominee Program.
The Express Entry allows applicants to submit a profile and be considered based on their rankings with a point system. Applicants that are highly ranked will be invited to apply for permanent residence.
Since the draws have been happening more often and the program has selected more individuals, the score needed to receive an invitation to apply has been reduced.
Following the invitations to apply that happens in 2021, the lowest-ranked candidate invited under the Canadian experience class was 357; under the provincial nominee program, the lowest-ranked was 682.
The Canadian government expects to receive 411,000 new permanent residents by the end of next year. There is no better time for skilled workers to apply for Express Entry.
